Trips at the Trading Post Canoe, Kayak and Campground
REFUGE BRIDGE: The Refuge Bridge trip is our most popular trip and is excellent for large groups. You are transported up-river to the launch site and then canoe or kayak down the river back to the Trading Post. This is an excellent all day trip (13 miles, approximately 4.5 hours).
SPERO BRIDGE: When taking the Spero Bridge trip you are also shuttled up the river to the departure site. From there, you will paddle downstream at your leisure and eventually arrive back at the Trading Post (10 miles, approximately 3.5 hours).WOOD BRIDGE: Wood Bridge is the shortest of our upper river trips. You will be transported up the river and then come back with the current to the Trading Post in Mongo. There is a short portage at the Mongo Dam, located at the end of this trip (4 miles, approximately 1.5 hours)

NASBY DAM: This trip leaves from the Trading Post and floats downstream to Nasby Dam. Float time is approximately 1 1/2 hours depending on the current. You will be picked up and shuttled back to the Trading Post. An excellent choice for your first-time trip, small children and the curious! Nasby Dam is one of the only "V" dams left in the United States (4 miles, approximately 1.5 hours).
CURTIS CREEK: This trip also departs from the Trading Post. You will paddle downstream to Nasby Dam and then carry your watercraft around the dam and you will put it back in the water below the dam to continue your voyage. You will paddle the remaining three miles to the destination point and be shuttled back to the Trading Post. This trip may not be available on holiday weekends or during high water conditions (7 miles, approximately 2.5 hours).ONTARIO DAM: Ontario Dam is the longest of the trips leaving from the Trading Post. This trip floats past Nasby Dam and Curtis Creek Bridge, eventually arriving at the Ontario Dam. You will have to carry your watercraft around Nasby Dam on your way to Ontario. You will be met at Ontario Dam and shuttled back to Mongo. This trip is available only through the week, so please call for details first (10 miles, approximately 3.5 hours).
State Road 327: This trip is 16 miles long and requires a minimum rental of 5 watercraft. Anyone taking this trip should get an early start (no later than 9 a.m.) Please call the office for reservations and confirmation regarding this trip (16 miles, approximately 7-plus hours).
